State of Georgia}        
Bartow Co.         }  In the name of God, Amen, I John Dawson of the County of Bartow and State of Georgia, being of Sound and disposing mind and memory, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength so to do, do make and publish this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all others by me at any time heretofore made, and first I commit my soul to God who gave it, and my body I desire to be buried in a style suitable to my circumstances, and my worldly estate I dispose of as follows.

Sect 1st            I desire that al my past debts be paid.

Sect 2nd           I will and bequeath to my wife Mary Dawson my entire estate during her widowhood or life, and in the event of either her marriage or death I desire my estate to be divided as hereinafter set forth.

Sect 3rd           In the event of the marriage or death of my wife Mary Dawson, I desire my daughter Lucy to have two of my lots of land, Numbers two hundred twenty four and two hundred twenty five, with one third of all my other property, said property to be controlled and managed by her during her life, and at her death to go to her bodily heirs, in the event of her death without issue, then it is to go back to my two daughters, Eliza Jane and Sarah, equally, and in the same way that I bequeath each separately in this instrument.

Sect 4th            In the event of the marriage or death of my wife Mary Dawson, I desire my daughter Eliza Jane to have two of my lots of land, Numbers two hundred eighty and two hundred twenty six (226), with one third of all my other property, said property to be controlled and managed by her during her life, and at her death to go to her bodily heirs, in the event of her death without issue, then it is to go back to my two daughters, Lucy and Sarah, equally, and in the same way that I bequeath each separately in this instrument.

Sect 5th            In the event of the marriage or death of my wife Mary Dawson, I desire my daughter Sarah to have two of my lots of land, Numbers two hundred eighty one and two hundred fifty one with one third of all my other property, said property to be controlled and managed by her during her life, and at her death to go to her bodily heirs, in the event of her death without issue, then it is to go back to my two daughters, Lucy and Eliza Jane, equally, and in the same way that I bequeath each separately in this instrument, all of these lands lying and being in the Seventeenth District of Bartow County Georgia.

In witness whereof I the said John Dawson to this my Will consisting of the foregoing
sheet and above portions of this one, have set my hand and seal This 22nd August 1870.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named John Dawson as his last Will
and Testament in presence of us who at his request in presence of each other, have
subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto.

Georgia              }        Before me came, on the 30th November 1875 at chambers for
Bartow County  }         the purpose of proving the last Will and Testament of John Dawson Decd, one of the witnesses of said will, viz I.N. Vanmeter, he said witness depose of the same that he saw said John Dawson sign and publish the within as his last Will, on the day and year than stated as executed by him that he witnessed the same at his request and in his presence and in presence of Thomas Tumlin and Jackson Weitingen (?) the other witnesses who also signs the same, at request of and in presence of Testator, of deponent (?) and each other, and that the same was voluntarily executed by him, while of sound and disposing mind and memory, Sworn to and Subscribed before me Nov 30/75.

I do Solemnly Sweat that this working contains the true last Will of the within named John Dawson deceased so far as I know or believe, and that I will well and truly execute the same in accordance with the Laws of this State so help me God.
