“Rockmart Ripples.”

An elegant reception was tendered to Mr. Florence Smith and his lovely bride, nee Miss Jennie Headden, of Cassville, on last Friday night at the residence of Mr. Sam Smith. The supper was bountiful and sumptuous, and among the most enthusiastic and accomplished eaters we noticed Mr. Will Neel of Cartersville. Eating seems to be with him a labor of love. Mr. Smith and his beautiful wife appeared very happy and received many warm congratulations from friends. The groom is one of Rockmart’s most enterprising business men and is one of the firm of Whitehead & Smith. The bride is well known here and greatly loved by our people. We wish them much happiness.

“Town and Country.”

Rev. R. B. Headden, of Rome, was in the city last Friday. He came over to perform the marriage ceremony of his sister, Miss Jennie Headden, and Mr. Florence Smith. Our people are always glad to see him.

********************

Married at the residence of the bride’s father, in Cassville, Ga., on Thursday, January 17, at 2 o’clock, Miss Jennie Headden to Mr. Florence Smith of Rockmart. The ceremony was performed by the brother of the bride, Rev. R. B. Headden of Rome. No attendants. The bride is extensively known in our town and country, having attended school in this city. She is a sparkling, brilliant, accomplished lady, and possessed of wonderful conversational powers.

Mr. Smith, we learn, is connected with the Dry Goods house of Whitehead & Co., of Rockmart. He is a thorough going, pushing, promising young man, and we congratulate him in this his latest success. We can wish him no greater good luck for the future than that every enterprise he undertakes will be crowned with like success, and result in rich reward.
