Romantic Marriage

A rather romantic marriage took place in this city Tuesday morning. About daylight Mr. S. C. Newbill, of Tennessee, and Miss S. C. Cochran, of Paulding county, came into town. Mr. Newbill at once procured license from Judge Howard, and then applied to Col. R. H. Jones to join him and his fair companion in the holy bonds of matrimony, which the colonel did in a handsome manner, all parties standing on the platform of the depot. The happy couple left on the morning train for Tennessee. Col. Jones informs us that he is acquainted with the family of the bride, and that they are highly respectable people. The groom was an entire stranger here, but had the appearance of respectability.
