Married, at the residence of the bride’s father, Mr. John M. Landen, of Cartersville, to Miss Mollie O. Bates, of Whitfield Co., near Dalton, Ga., Nov. 20, 1883. Rev. Mr. J. M. Dunn officiating. They arrived at the groom’s father and were met by many friends and relatives who gave them a most cordial and happy welcome. After which we were placed before a most sumptuous dinner that all enjoyed exceedingly. The afternoon was spent in buggy riding by the youngsters up and down the banks of the old Etowah river. The beautiful scenery and flattering tongue were the enjoyment of the day. We extend to the fair bride and groom our congratulation, and wish them a long, useful and happy life and may they, when departed from this life, ascend to the brightest seat in heaven.
