“Kingston’s Budget.” We had quite a romantic marriage in our place on the 30th of July. Mr. Green Johnson and Miss Anna Johnson left the parental roof and called on Rev. Joel Goodwin, who united them in holy wedlock. Next morning the bride’s mother learned that they had been married, and hastened away after her husband, who was at work, leaving a guard to see that her daughter was detained until her return. The groom had the guard arrested for refusing to deliver to him his bride. |
