A runaway couple was married on the Cherokee train, Sunday, between Taylorsville and Deaton’s, the contracting parties being Mr. E. E. Field and Miss Leila Dupree, of Etowah. Conductor Frank Lester, appreciating the situation, stopped the train and secured a preacher and made the couple happy by making their hearts beat as one. Frank was also master of ceremonies and his congratulations were continued and sincere. |
