A Marriage at Cassville. Married, on the evening of the Wednesday, the 13th inst., at the residence of the bride’s father, Mr. J. K. Gilreath, at Cassville, Miss Janie H. Gilreath to Rev. J. B. Burgess, of Mount Hope, Whitfield county. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. T. Lowe, of the Kingston circuit, in the presence of relatives of the bride and groom. Miss Gilreath was a charming and popular young lady, who by her sweet, sunny disposition, has made many friends over the county, who congratulate Mr. Burgess on securing her as his own. Mr. Burgess is a young man of unusual intellectual ability and good moral character. He has recently returned from Emory college, at Oxford, where he has been finishing his education. He has been licensed to exhort in the Methodist church and will soon enter upon his work as minister of the gospel. The best wishes of all will follow the happy pair through life. |
