Joseph Bird and Malinday Russell, a couple of the charcoal tint, who had been occupying quarters in the county jail for the past week under the charge of violating one of the commandments, on last Saturday concluded to compromise their trouble with the State by a matrimonial venture. Col. Robert H. Jones was sent for, and in the lower corridor of the court house, fanned by a gentle breeze, they were made man and wife and sent forth once more to breath the sweet air of liberty. |
