With sorrow we record the death of another good citizen.  Mr. Osborne R. Williams departed this life suddenly, on Friday last.  The event is especially saddening when we reflect that he leaves a wife and five small children whose sole dependence was in him.  May God rest him and be merciful to his widow and little ones!

At the last regular meeting of Cartersville Council, No. 44, U. F. T., the following preamble and Resolutions were unanimously adopted:

WHEREAS, Death has again invaded our Circle of Friendship, and removed from our midst one of our most zealous and useful members, in the person of our brother, OSBORNE R. WILLIAMS, we humbly submit to this dispensation of Providence, believing that our loss is his eternal gain; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, 1st.  That in the death of Bro. WILLIAMS our Council has sustained an irreparable loss; the community, a good and worthy citizen; his family, a kind husband and an affectionate father, and the church, one of its brightest ornaments.

2. That we deeply sympathize with the bereaved family, and extend our heartfelt condolence in the hour of their grief, and that we dedicate a page on our minutes to his memory. And drape the furniture of the Council room in mourning for thirty days.

3. That a copy of these resolutions be furnished the family of the deceased, and also a copy be sent to our city papers and the Star & Cultivator, Griffin, Ga., with a request that they publish the same.
