Death of Mrs. C. B. Wallace. Our community was deprived last week of one of its brightest ornaments and most estimable characters—Mrs. Charles B. Wallace. She came to Cartersville four years ago, a stranger to everyone, but soon won for herself that esteem which is always the guardian of a refined Christian woman. Her life was a beautiful illustration of all the social virtues, and a sweet incentive to Christian duty. By her seemingly untimely removal to the “better land,” an interesting household is desolated, a void made in the community not easily to be filled. There is to us something irrepressibly sad and perplexing in the death of this wife and mother, leaving behind her a husband and four little children. Perhaps even this will be cleared up by and by. The large procession on Saturday, as it wended its way to the cemetery, was a beautiful tribute to her worth and a pleasing token of sympathy to the bereaved family. |
