John R. Walker.
Sad Death of Bartow Young Man at State University.

John R. Walker, son of Mr. F. R. Walker, died last week at Athens, while a student of the State University.

He was a promising young man with genial manner and made friends readily wherever he went.  He held a situation in the Bank of Cartersville awhile and was also clerk for the Water, Light and Bond Commission of this city, previous to his entering college.

He was taken down with typhoid fever and was sick some twelve or fifteen days.

His remains were brought to his home at Cartersville accompanied by Chancellor Barrow and several of his college mates Friday night, and Saturday the funeral took place at Cassville at the Methodist church of which he was a member.  Followed by sorrowing relatives and friends his remains were interred at Cassville cemetery.
