Negro Killed.

JOE, a slave belonging to Mr. James CARTER, of Kingston, in this county, was killed on Saturday evening last, by Mr. James T. Sheats, overseer for Mr. Carter.  He was whipped or rather beaten to death with sticks.  Sheats has left for parts unknown.  A coroner’s jury returned a verdict of murder.
