Death of Mrs. Thompson.

Departed this life on the evening of the 15th inst., in this city, Mrs. AMANDA THOMPSON, wife of Dr. S. Thompson, aged 55 years.

For a number of years it was my pleasure to be numbered among the friends of the deceased, and while she was not demonstrative yet her sympathies were always on the side of the weak and suffering.  For ten months prior to her death she was confined to her bed, and though a great sufferer was ever cheerful and pleasant, and before death expressed entire faith in the virtue of the atonement and was not only willing but anxious to depart and meet the Savior in whom she put her trust.

A Friend.
