Death of Mr. Wm. Tate
An Old and Prominent North Georgia Developer Dies.

[A long article—some excerpts:] “He was a son of Colonel Samuel Carter Tate, one of the first settlers of Pickens county…His wife was a daughter of Thomas Byrd, of Gordon county, and she and six children survive him. His children are Congressman Carter Tate, Dr. W. B. Tate, and P. M. (Tobe) Tate, all of Pickens county; Mrs. Norris Holland, Marietta; Mrs. Mattie Cole, Newnan; and Miss Stella, the only daughter at home.”
