Oliver Tate Dies Sunday At Kingston Home
Oliver W. Tate, well known resident of the Kingston community died at his home Sunday following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Tate had followed the farming circles for many years and his passing came as a shock to his many friends and loved ones.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, September 10, at 4 o'clock from the Macedonia Church with interment in the Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Kimsey conducted the service with Owen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tate was born 72 years ago in Cherokee County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clemmons Tate.
His wife was before her marriage the former Omie Dawson, who passed away seven years ago.
He is survived by one son, Dewitt Tate of Cartersville; three daughters, Mrs. Vadie Dunn of Rockmart; Misses Vonnie and Ollie Tate of Kingston; one brother, Will Tate of Rome; one half-sister, Mrs. Florence Blankenship of Kingston RFD 2, and two half-brothers, Coleman and Arthur Tate of Rockmart, Ga.
