Final Rites for Mrs. Maggie Tate

Mrs. Maggie Owens Tate, 81, of Rockmart, Route 3, passed away at her residence Thursday, December 27.

Final tribute was paid at rites held Friday afternoon at three o'clock at the Macedonia Baptist church in Bartow county.  The Rev. E. L. Youngblood and the Rev. Russell Head officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery with Freeman Harris Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Born in Bartow county on December 30, 1875, Mrs. Tate was the daughter of the late Lige Owens and Mary Nichols Owens.  She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist church.

She is survived by three sons, C. B., A. C., and Stanley Dawson Tate, all of Rockmart, Route 3; three daughters, Miss Irene Tate, of Route 3, Mrs. Marion Dodd, of Rome, and Mrs. Milton Blankingship, of Kingston.  Also surviving are 19 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Charles and Joe Dodd, T. J. and Hugh Blankingship, J. W. Scott, and Donald Tate.
