Mr. Tate

ROCKMART - A. C. Tate, 87, of 227 Charlton Drive, died Monday.

Mr. Tate was born March 29, 1907 in Bartow County, son of the late Clemmons P. Tate and the late Mary Owens Tate.  Prior to retirement, he worked as a contractor.  He was a member and deacon of Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Rockmart Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include: his wife, Essie Shepherd Tate, Rockmart; two sons, C. L. Tate, Silver Creek and Don Tate, Rockmart; a daughter, Janet Tate Waters, Rome; a sister, Irene Tate, Rockmart; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Bray and the Rev. Hobart Pierce officiating.  Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
