Lowell Johnson Sutton, of 19 Columbia Street, died suddenly Friday night at his home.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lavada Bates; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Nicholson, Adairsville; and Mrs. Dorothy Morgan, Atlanta; one son, Jerry Sutton, Cartersville; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Green, Mrs. Edith Thomason, Mrs. Irene Greeson, all of Rome; and Mrs. Belle Evans, Baxley, Georgia; two brothers, L.D. Sutton, Rockmart; and Leldon Sutton, Warren, Michigan,; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Atco Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Kimsey and the Rev. James Hatcher officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Mr. Sutton, born September 10, 1903, was a son of the late L.I. and Alice Cunningham Sutton.  He was a retired employee of Goodyear Mills.  At the time of his death, he operated a service station located on US 41.
