Mrs. K. Solum

At her residence in the town of Alexandria, on the 10th of March, 1881, Mrs. Kuistic Solum, widow of Ole Larson Solum, who died in the old country in 1850. Deceased was born in 1770, and was therefore 110 years old. She came from Norway to America in 1867. She has two children still in Norway, and three here. Lars Solum is her oldest son. She has twenty-six grand-children and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Her health and strength were preserved till within a year of her death, and she read without the aid of glasses.
