Death of Mr. Jas M. Smith

Mr. James Monroe Smith died at his home, near the northeastern suburbs of the city recently, after an illness of a number of months. Mr. Smith’s death was not an event unexpected by his family as he suffered from a complication of maladies from which they for some time before his death realized he could not recover. Mr. Smith was one of the best known citizens of the county. A few years ago he held the office of county treasurer and administered its affairs in a clean and acceptable manner. He leaves a wife and a large family of children to mourn his loss.
