Mrs. Shinall Dies At White

Mrs. Archie R. Shinall, member of the faculty of the White Elementary School, died suddenly at her home about 6:30 o'clock Wednesday evening, September 22.

Her husband was not at home at the time of her passing.

As the former Bernice Pressley, Mrs. Shinall has been a teacher in the Bartow County School System for the past three decaded, and for several years past has been member of the White School faculty. Her only brother is DeWitt Pressley, 20 Forest ave., Cartersville, and her only sister is Mrs. Alex Rusk, Cartersville Route 2. Other survivors are one niece and one nephew.

News of Mrs. Shinall's death comes as a great shock to a legion of friends. Although they realized her health had not been robust during recent years, she continued her duties as a teacher. Her husband is a son of a half-brother of Messrs. Rob and Roy Shinall, and is connected with some of Bartow's most prominent families. They had no children.

Mrs. Shinall was born in Cherokee County Aug. 8, 1898. She was the daughter of the late J.H. and Mary Etta Satterfield Pressley. She had spent most of her life in Bartow County. She was a member of the Peachtree Christian church, Atlanta.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 24, with the assistant pastor of the Peachtree Christian church officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery, with the Owen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Edward Satterfield, J.B. Satterfield, Lindsay Shinall, Troy Upshaw, J.M. Maxwell and Frank Foster.

Honorary pallbearers were listed as C.B. Perry, J.K. Headden, J.B. Mahan, L.F. Richards, Eugene Boyd, Harry Jarrett, J.R. Shurling, Ernest Bell, Carl Lewis and John L. Sullivan.
