Death of a Good Man.

Mr. Pleasant S. Shelman, who for a long time resided in this county near Stilesboro, died last Saturday at his home near Hamlet, Floyd county.  He has for some time been in feeble health but was always very active in the management of his business affairs.  He died, as a great many of his bosom friends think, of overwork.  Mr. Shelman made Bartow a good citizen, and he has a great many friends within her borders.  His remains were brought here Monday and they now rest on beautiful “Oak Hill.”  In placing him away in his final resting place, Dr. Felton preached his funeral which was said to be a good one indeed.

A Sad Death.

Mr. Pleasant S. Shelman, a former citizen of this county, and a brother of Capt. Chas. T. Shelman, was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery yesterday morning.  The funeral services were conducted by Dr. W. H. Felton.

Mr. Shelman, during his residence in our midst, won the friendship and esteem of our people.  The family and relatives have our deepest sympathy.
