Col. Robt. H. Rowland, youngest child and son of the late Maj. John S. Rowland, of this county deceased, departed this life, at the old Homestead, near this place on Thursday evening, the 25th of November; his funeral was preached by Rev. J. G. Ryals, and his remains were buried by the side of his father and mother, in the family burying ground, on Friday evening following. But three short weeks had passed off since his mother was called hence, and now, though young, buoyant and vigorous, her darling idol son, has been called to follow in her footsteps, leaving behind to mourn his untimely departure, his young, pious and devoted wife and infant babe.—May the good Lord be a husband to them.—Amen.
