Vernon Lewis Perry, 84, of Huntwood Terrace, Cartersville, died Friday, March 26 at his residence.

He was born on August 6, 1914 in Dekalb County, Alabama, son of the late Oscar Perry and Ada Hardin Perry. Perry retired from Lewis Carpet as a forklift operator. He was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor Perry; two sisters, Frances White and Olene Perry; five brothers, Charlie, Edward, Horis, Pink and Sam Perry.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Thelma Perry of Cartersville; two sisters, Mary Lou Craig and Susie Holmes, both of Cartersville; one brother, Jesse Perry, of Cartersville; three grandchildren, James Mauldin, Michael Perry and Justin Mauldin; four great-grandchildren, Victoria, Jennifer and Phoebe Perry and Cody Mauldin and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 28 in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Loy Frix, Rev. Walter Townsend and Rev. Everett Wigley officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memory gardens.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

The Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., is in charge of the arrangements.
