Mrs. Elsie Peyton

Mrs. Elsie Lee Watkins Peyton, 709 Hunterson St., Newark, N.J., formerly of Rome, died in Newark after an extended illness.

Funeral services were to be held at 4 p.m. today at the Gore Spring AME Church, with Rev. C.L. Sanders officiating. Interment was to be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her widower Frank Peyton, of Newark, N.J.; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Peyton Bryant and Miss Odessa Peyton, of Newark, N.J.; parents, Mr. Roosevelt and Mrs. Grace Watkins of Rome; grandmother, Mrs. Ada Norris of Rome; four brothers, Judge Roosevelt Watkins of Rome, Charles Watkins of Newark, N.J., Melvin E. Watkins of Columbus, Ohio and Earnest Watkins of Atlanta; five sisters, Mrs. Sarah Wilson, Mrs. Madella Lewis and Miss Ada Watkins of Rome, Mrs. Connie Butler of Newark, N.J. and Mrs. Julia Johnson of Atlanta; three grandchildren, other relatives.

Wright Memorial Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
