OBITUARY.

WILLIE PAYNE, infant son of Mr. L. and Mrs. E. Payne, died in this city, on the 13th inst., aged 1 month and 14 days.  Willie is gone! And while we deeply sympathize with the bereft parents, we can comfort them with these words, “Weep not as those who have no hope.”  Yes, little Willie is gone from earth, but we have the entire satisfaction of knowing [line obscured by fold] of eternal day; or is sweetly awaiting the resurrection morn.  His remains were deposited, on the 15th inst., in the city cemetery, to await the summons of the arch-angel.  We tender to the bereaved parents and LITTLE WEEPING LAURA (the sister) our sincere sympathy.  Yes

His body to the tomb consigned,
While angels group around;
And all the powers of hell combined
Cannot invade the mound.

Be cheerful, mother, do not weep,
And father, do not mourn,
For shortly you and he will meet
Beyond this world so worn.

Farewell, dear Willie, for a while;
Our father called thee home,
While we yet humbly bow and smile.
And say, His will be done.

E. S. V. B.
