Leila Milner Parker, 89, died at Windward Nursing Center in Flowery Branch, Ga., on Wednesday, March 3, 1999, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Parker was born May 28, 1909, in Bartow County to Richard Andrew and Leila Weems Milner. She was for many years a member of the Cartersville Presbyterian Church, was a direct descendant of Arnold Milner, one of the founders of the church and was an avid duplicate bridge player.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edwards Parker and is survived by three daughters, Susan Brant of New York City, Louise Berry of Stamford, Conn., and Helen Farr of Flowery Branch, Ga.; three grandsons; one granddaughter and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, from the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tim Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
