Mrs. Ada Childers Norris, 109, of Rome died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Floyd Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church in Rome. Interment will be held at Gore Springs Cemetery.

FK Jones Funeral Home, 1205 Martin Luther King Blvd., Rome, is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Ada Childers Norris.

Mrs. Ada Childers Norris, 109, of Rome died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Norris was born Apr. 10, 1896 in Bartow County to the late Riley and Julia Childers Harris.

Mrs. Norris was a devoted lifetime member of Gore Springs African Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school superintendent, Missionary Board and the Mother's Board.

She was united in holy matrimony to Jesse Norris, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Grace N. Watkins, of Rome; six grandchildren: Sarah (Milton Sr.) Wilson, of Rome; the Rev. Della Watkins, Melvin (Brooklyn) Watkins and Ada W. Chaney, all of Cartersville; Ernest (Dorcas) Watkins of Lithonia and Connie (Johnnie) Butler of Newark, N.J.; five grandchildren preceded her in death.  Thirty-five great-grandchildren and six generations of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives survive.

Services for Mrs. Ada Childers Norris are Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church with the Rev. Henry Borbor officiating.  Interment will be at Gore Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 364 Powell Road.
