Hall’s Mill

Our town folks were shocked Tuesday morning on hearing of the death of Mr. George Newton, which occurred Monday night at midnight. He was as well seemingly as common, when he ate a hearty supper went to bed talking and laughing with his children. He awoke near twelve coughing and called his children who found him sitting on the bed with blood pouring from his mouth. Before they could summon anyone he was dead. He was a very old man being near eighty six years of age. He had been a member of the Baptist church many years.
