Mr. Elizur L. Newton, grand-father of Mrs. J. B. Conyers, of this place, died at his home in Athens, Ga., on Tuesday afternoon last.  He was one of the oldest citizens of that town, a good man and a Christian gentleman.  He was, we think, over eighty years of age.
