Funeral services for Mr. Allison Moss, 70 years of age, were conducted from his home on Forrest Avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, Rev. Guy N. Atkinson officiating.  Interment followed at Stamp Creek Cemetery with Cummings-Long-Owen, local funeral directors in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moss passed away Tuesday morning after a long illness, which his declining years prevented him from rallying.  He was one of the county’s oldest pioneers, having been born and reared in the red hills of Bartow.

A man of upright character, a hard and earnest worker, Mr. Moss contacted many friends who will mourn his passing and will heap words of sympathy on members of the bereaved family.

Besides his wife, Mr. Moss is survived by two sons; Mr. D.H. Moss of Ashburn, Georgia; Mr. M.L. Moss, of Atco; four daughters, Mrs. Jim Young, Mrs. Glenn Yancey, Mrs. Thelma Hardin, Mrs. Grace Beavers, all of Cartersville; one sister, Mrs. Hattie MacMillan who resides in South Carolina.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Messrs. Jim Young, Jim Branton, Wallace Jenkins, Watson Jenkins, Warren Shinall and Marvin Young.

[NOTES: Wife was Rena Clarence Moss.  He was previously married to Lula Sharp.]
