Mr. Thos. R. Morton, old and very worthy Christian gentleman, died on Sunday morning at 5 o’clock, from paralysis, at the house of his son, Capt. J. F. Morton, five miles from Kingston, near Hall’s Station. He was 83 years old, and died as he lived – in the Christian faith –having been an acceptable member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South since he was 21 years of age. We sympathize with his bereaved children, but their loss is his eternal gain. –Jackie.
