Ford.

On the 3d inst. the bright and beautiful life of Went Owens passed to its maker and our heart was deeply grieved. His life was like a beautiful flower, shedding its sweet aroma over all; so exemplary, so true to every instinct of manhood. The beautiful life of a noble young man has ended. The Master saw fit to gather the golden sheave for his own and we must submit. Again, ere one short week has passed away, the reaper has come and all that remains of that noble woman, Mrs. Col. Morris, is her lifeless corpse. From a child I have looked in love and adoration to this good, noble, Christian woman, and I feel and know tonight that a purer gem will never shine in heaven. She has been a great sufferer for months, yet, with Christian fortitude, she bore it all without a murmur. To the bereaved ones of both families we tender our heartfelt sympathies, and “may God comfort them as He alone can.”
