Fatal Accident on the Cherokee Road.

Wednesday while the train was near Rockmart, on the Cherokee railroad and was being carried up a steep grade so that it was necessary to move it by sections, Spencer Morgan, a colored employee was directed by the engineer to cut the cars loose when at the top of the grade.  He set the brakes and while stooping over to take out the pin, he lost his balance and fell on the track.  The engine passed over him and he was so crushed that he died in a few hours.  He was taken to Rockmart immediately, but all that could be done for his relief was without avail.  Morgan was forty-five years of age and bore a good character.  He leaves a wife and children.
