Mrs. Ada Milhollin, Former Countian, Passes in Atlanta Mrs. Ada E. Copeland Milhollin, former resident of Rome, died Sunday night at 10:30 o’clock at the home of her son, Harvey Milhollin, in Atlanta. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock at the home of a niece, Mrs. H.W. Henderson, in Cassville, Ga. The Rev. Ralph Kimsey officiated with interment in the Cassville cemetery. Mrs. Milhollin was born on January 7, 1861, in Brundidge, Ala. the daughter of the late William and Anne Fears Copeland. She resided there until her marriage to N.P. Lee, of Leesburg, Fla., where she resided for three years before returning to Brundidge. Mr. Lee died shortly afterwards. In 1898, she married W.T. Milhollin, of Cassville. She resided in Cassville for some time. Several years ago, Mrs. Milhollin lived in Rome for a time, later moving to Atlanta, where she has resided with her son, Harvey, for several years. She was a devoted Christian, and was loved by all who knew her. She joined the Brundidge Baptist church at the age of fifteen. Surviving Mrs. Milhollin are her husband, W.T. Milhollin; the following children, Max Milhollin of Rome; Harvey and Gurtie Milhollin of Atlanta; Mrs. George Courtney of Chicago; and two grandchildren, Frances and James Harvey Milhollin, Jr., of Atlanta; a brother, Sam Copeland of Brundidge, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Lewis Jeter, of Brewton, Ala., and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives of Rome, Cartersville, Cassville, Ga., and in Atlanta. Mrs. Luther Pettit, of Cartersville is a niece, while Mr. Lindsey Milhollin is a nephew. The following relatives were active pallbearers: J.L. Milhollin, Jr., C.A. Milhollin, Luther Pettit, H.W. Henderson, Sam Pittard and Harold Tribble. Honorary pallbearers included Rob Headden, John Headden, Will Battle, J.L. Milhollin, Paul Pittard, Earl Kimsey and Col. J.J. Barge. |
