Mrs. Milam Dead.
Wife of Bank Cashier Milam Passes Away.
A Young Woman Much Beloved For Her Many Good Qualities—A Sad Event.

Mrs. Mary Lou Milam, wife of Mr. Charles M. Milam, cashier of the Bank of Cartersville, died at her home in this city, Tuesday morning at 4:30 o’clock.

Mrs. Milam’s death was a peculiarly sad one and has cast a deep gloom over the community.  As Miss Mary Lou Wikle and after her marriage to Mr. Milam, twelve months ago, she has been known to all and esteemed as are few young women.  She was the embodiment of grace and amiability and was a young woman of unusual strength of character.  She possessed rare musical and other talents and filled a place in the community that will be difficult to have filled since her death.

Mrs. Milam’s death occurred fourteen months, to a day, after that of her mother.  The blow is a very heavy one to her father and husband and other relatives, who have the profound sympathy of all in their bereavement.

The funeral occurred from the home yesterday and was largely attended.  Rev. George W. Duval, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the funeral services.  The remains were interred at Oak Hill cemetery.

Quite a number of relatives of Mrs. Milam came up from Atlanta and other points to attend the funeral.

She leaves besides her husband, an infant daughter.

It is with deepest sympathy I have just heard of the death of Mrs. Mary Lu Wikle Milam.  She leaves a sorrowing husband and the little motherless babe only a few days old, beside a host of friends and relatives.
