Final Rites Set For Tom Mealer Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 p.m. for Tom Mealer, 79, who died early Tuesday at his home at Rydal. Services will be held at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Kimsey and Rev. Warren Watkins. Burial will be in Hays Cemetery. Surviving Mr. Mealer are his wife, the former Miss Fannie Howell; six sons, Grady Mealer, Cartersville; Albert, Homer, John and Fain, all of Adairsville, and Claud Mealer of Rydal; five daughters, Mrs. A. C. Owen, Mrs. W. H. West, both of Calhoun, and Mrs. H. H. West, Mrs. E. F. Cobb and Mrs. J. S. Sutton, all of Rydal; three brothers, Steve Mealer, Fayetteville, Ala.; Mose Mealer, Calhoun, and Philip Mealer, Canton; three sisters, Mrs. Jane Reese, Ellijay, Mrs. Fena Magha, and Mrs. Lizzie Turner of Dalton; 58 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jack Mealer, Ralph Mealer, Charles Owens, Junior Owens, Junior West, Dillard Sutton and Robert Cobb. Barton Funeral Home of Adairsville is in charge of arrangements.
