Mrs. Glenise Wright Mealer, 55, of 1273 Highway 140, Adairsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Bartow County on March 17, 1943, the daughter of Mattie Lou Adcock Wright and the late Grady Wright. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was employed by the Bartow County School System. Survivors include her husband, Roy Arnold Mealer, of Adairsville, to whom she was married Aug. 20, 1961; two sons, Timothy A. Mealer and Robert J. Mealer, both of Adairsville; mother, Mattie Lou Wright, of Adairsville; one brother, Alton Wright, of Adairsville; three sisters, Violene Ezell and Nettie Ruth Sutton, both of Fairmount, and Marie Mealer, of Adairsville; three grandchildren, Riannon Jewell, Brandon Glenn Mealer and Corey Andrew Mealer; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Michael Clark officiating. The body will lie in state at the church building from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service. Active pallbearers will be Greg Bowen, Greg Mealer, Scott Mealer, Johnny Owens, Richard Hollaran and Edward Wilson. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Chastain, Jerry Wright, Freddie Childers, Donald McReynolds and Michael Sparks. They are asked to meet at the church building at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. The family will receive friends at the Barton Funeral Home Thursday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. R.
