Miss McCormick Buried Thursday At Stilesboro

Impressive funeral services for Miss Mary Grace McCormick were held Thursday afternoon from Owen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Howell Perry, pastor of the First Baptist Church, conducting the service. Interment: followed in the McCormick Cemetery at Stilesboro.

Serving as pallbearers were: Frank Atwood, W.C. Henson, Clyde Medlock, Cliff Nelson, Ray Rhodes, and Evens Strickland.

Miss McCormick passed away late Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital following an illness of several weeks.

She made her home on Euharlee Road for many years where her flower gardenk held her interest until the last. She was always interested in the newest bulb that could be planted and enjoyed giving her flowers to her many, many friends throughout the county.

“Miss Grace”, as she was affectionally called by her friends, lived a quite but full life, having an interest in the happenings around her as well as those in places that one reads about.

Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. McCormick, early settlers of Bartow County. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Mae Ragsdale with whom she resided.
