Lumis B. (Dusty) McCormick, 83, of 3557 Old Calhoun Highway,Adairsville, died Tuesday morning March 9, 1999 at the residence following a brief illness.

He was born July 7, 1915 in Etowah County, Alabama, son of the late Robert Jefferson McCormick and Ollie Lecroy McCormick. He was retired from Echota Mills and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran, having served in the Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Marie Maddox McCormick on July 5, 1980, two daughters, Janet and Gloria McCormick and one son, Robert McCormick.

Survivors include four sons, Edward McCormick of Utah, Timothy McCormick and Anthony McCormick of Rome and Everett McCormick, Sr. of Adairsville; four daughters, Kay Ramos of Ontario, Calif., Shirley Davenport of West Warwick, R.I., Phyllis Moreland and Sara Culberson of Kingston; one stepson, Doyle Maddox of Enterprise, Ala.; one sister, Myrtie Hollingsworth of Boaz, Ala.; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Spring Church Cemetery with full military rites.

Pallbearers will be Michael Kidd, John Kidd, Michael Coleman, Dale Carroll, Robert Roden and Roy O'Berry. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton and Son Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Lumis B. (Dusty) McCormick.
