Died At Canton.

Mrs. McAfee, a Sister of Mrs. I. M. Hightower, Passes Away.

Mrs. I. M. Hightower has just returned home grief-stricken from being at the deathbed of her sister, Mrs. Callie McAfee, who died at Canton last Thursday. Deceased was a lady well known for Christian virtues and much beloved by all who knew her. She leaves three bright intelligent sons, all in business. The Canton Advance contains the following:

“Yesterday noon Mrs. Callie McAfee died at her home in Canton after a lingering illness of several weeks. Today (Friday) the funeral takes place at the Baptist church at 11 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Aquilla Chamlee, of Sandersville, after which the remains will be interred in the town cemetery.

“Mrs. McAfee had many friends and relatives throughout the country and the funeral and burial service will, no doubt, be attended by a large crowd. She was a woman of indomitable energy, ever cheerful and sunny natured, and her death will be mourned by many. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton J. Wheeler, of this county, and leaves three sons, Homer, Hubert and Huey, to whom we especially tender our condolence. The Advance will have more to say next week of this good woman, who did so much towards making others happy while she was a pilgrim on this earth.”
