Death of a Good Woman.

The community was greatly shocked Saturday morning last upon learning of the death of Mrs. Patrick Mansfield, living a few miles from town. She was a most estimable, Christian woman, and beloved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Methodist church at Stegall’s chapel. Her remains were interred in our city cemetery Sunday evening, the funeral rites being performed by Rev. R. H. Jones, as we understand, at her own request. The death of this good and pious woman is a great and irreparable loss to her family. Their grief and sorrow is great and we most deeply sympathize with them in their sad bereavement. Most especially do we sympathize with the bereaved husband, who, in his old age, is left alone as it were by the death of the loved companion of his early manhood; but, all have the consolation of knowing that death had no terrors for the Christian wife and mother.
