D.P. Mahan Dead.
Well Known Old Citizen of Cassville District Passes Away Last Week.

Mr. David P. Mahan, a well known citizen of Bartow county, died at his home, near Cassville, Wednesday, 6th instant, after a long and lingering illness. Mr. Mahan was in his eighty-first year and had long been a resident of this county. He came originally from Virginia when he was a young man. By his industry and economy he had amassed quite a nice little property, and was considered one of the most thrifty and prosperous farmers in his section of the county.

As a citizen he was noted for his honesty and clean methods of dealing with his fellowmen and commanded the esteem and confidence of all who knew him.

He leaves a son and daughter. They are Mr. Patrick Mahan, of Fairmount, and Mrs. Lucius Vincent, who resided with him at the time of his death, on the old home place.

His remains were interred at the Cassville cemetery Thursday, Rev. Mr. Cooper conducting the funeral services.
