Mr. W.B. Lowe Buried Monday Mr. W.B. Lowe, 89 years old, one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of the Cass Station district, died at his home last Sunday evening at eight o’clock after suffering only a few days from an attack of pneumonia. Mr. Lowe was a veteran of the War Between the States, and was a gallant soldier. Returning to his home, after the war, he served well his day and generation, and leaves behind a heritage of a well-spent life, full of years of usefulness. Funeral services were held at Cassville Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Stokes, pastor of the Methodist church. Arrangements were in charge of Jackson’s funeral directors. The pallbearers were Messrs. J.R. Brownlee, R.E. Bruce, S.M. Pittard, P.D. Pittard, G.W. Gaddis and S.J. Gore. Surviving are four daughters and three sons. They are Mrs. Mary Rogers of Gadsden, Ala.; Mrs. R.P. Griffin, of Cassville; Mrs. V.B. Gaddis, of McIntosh, Fla.; Mrs. Guy Pratt of California; Messrs. John, Lee, and Frank Lowe, besides a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, left to mourn the passing of this aged and beloved citizen of Bartow county. |
