A distressing accident occurred at the residence of Mr. Wm. LOVELACE, recently.  It appears that two children were left at home alone, aged respectively three and seven.  The older one took down and attempted to cock a pistol, when it discharged, the ball entering near the eye of the younger one causing instant death.  The affair is a truly lamentable one, which should carry a lesson to parents to keep dangerous weapons out of the reach of children.
