Lipscomb funeral Thursday

William C. Lipscomb, SKCM, United States Navy, retired, of Route 4, Cartersville, died Tuesday following a sudden illness. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack. He was 54.

Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Garnette Lipscomb, of Detroit, Mich.; John L. Lipscomb, of White; and Joe Lipscomb, Route 4, Cartersville; three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Cox, of Cartersville; Mrs. Bill Worley, of Rome; and Mrs. James Goss, of El Paso, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held Thursday at 3 PM from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. J.A. Hollis and a Navy chaplain officiating. Interment will follow in Cassville cemetery.

He entered the Navy in 1943, and was discharged in January, 1968, He was a native of Bartow County, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.C. (Kit) Lipscomb.

The remains will be at Owen Funeral Home until the funeral home.
