W.C. Lipscomb Rites Monday at Cassville

Funeral services for Mr. William C. (Kit) Lipscomb, age 82, were conducted Monday afternoon at the Cassville Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Kimsey and the Rev. A.R. Haman officiating.

Grandsons served as pallbearers and interment was in the Cassville cemetery with Owen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Lipscomb was a native of Bartow County, the son of the late Nathan L. and Laura Crowe Lipscomb and was a retired farmer.

For several years he had been confined to a wheel chair and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis Cox on Etowah Dr. early Sunday morning.

He was preceded in death in 1953 by his wife, the former Miss Cleo Moore.

Survivors include four sons: Garnette Lipscomb, Detroit; Bill Lipscomb with the U.S. Navy in Thailand; John Lipscomb, Joe Lipscomb, Cassville; three daughters Mrs. Lewis Cox, Cartersville; Mrs. James Goss, El Paso, Tex.; Mrs. W.O. Worley, Rome; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three brothers: O.C. Lipscomb, R.L. Lipscomb, Cartersville; H.H. Lipscomb, White; four sisters: Mrs. Ethel Burnett, Jacksonville, Fla.; Mrs. C.C. Holden, Englewood, Tenn.; Mrs. Minnie Denman and Mrs. Fred Bishop, Cartersville.
