Gone To His Rest.

An Old Citizen of Cassville Passes Away.

Mr. Elias Lipscomb died at his home, at Cassville, at 9 o’clock on Tuesday night, after an illness with spinal troubles which has confined him to his bed for the last two years.

Mr. Lipscomb was one of the earliest settlers of the county coming originally from South Carolina. He was a member of the Baptist church, a Freemason, and was a pious good man and possessed the good will of all neighbors.

Three years ago Mr. Lipscomb married a second wife, Miss Pratt, by whom he leaves two children. He leaves four children by his first wife, Messrs. James and Nathaniel Lipscomb, Mrs. B. F. Posey and another daughter.

Mr. Lipscomb was in his 77 th year.
