Homer E. Lee, age 82, of Route 2, Cartersville, died Saturday, April 29, 1978, following an extended illness. Mr. Lee was a native of Cherokee County, a member of the Mt Zion Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. A son of the late Jim and Sally Delong Lee, he is survived by his widow, the former Henretta Cox; five daughters, Myrtice Willis of Aragon, Hazel Morris of Acworth, Dora Forsyth of Kingston, Bertha Taylor and Rita Day, both of Cartersville; four sons, Leonard Lee of Aragon, Gordon Lee of Rockmart, Albert and J.L. Lee, both of Cartersville; two brothers, Bob Lee of Kingston, and Joe Lee of Cartersville; one sister, Ruby Vance of Cartersville; 36 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Cox and the Rev. Fred Lee officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. |
