“Bartow County—Adairsville.”

Our community was sorely bereaved when on last Friday, the sweet spirit of Mrs. Virginia LeConte took its flight to join the loved ones gone before. She had been ill for some time, and was in Rome under treatment at the time of her death. No one in the whole community had more friends and was generally beloved than she, sweet and gentle with always a word of cheer for all. She was a consistent and faithful member of the old school Presbyterian church. Revs. Goetchius, of Rome and Hudson of this place conducted the funeral services. She leaves a husband, two sons, and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

“But wherefore weep? Her matchless spirit soars.

Beyond where splendid shines the orb of day;

And weeping angels lead her to those bowers,

Where endless pleasures virtue’s deeds repay.”
